A Little Yoga

You want healing

Take just a little yoga now.

Feel the breath

Be present.

Notice body, breath, spirit yoked together

Notice thoughts

Watch thoughts change.

Accept all of it:

The body today

The fear and pain today

The joy and pleasure today.

At the end of the hour

Or longer

Notice the release

From stress, anxiety, fear, and pain

Walk into peace, ease, and grace

And thank all beings.

Namaste.

The Between Space

Not yet winter

Letting go of fall

And dreaming of what is yet to come.

The cool air reminds us

That days ahead may be dark.

Today we can take a step back

And rest in the between space.

Notice the air and the subtle shifts

Find the space between inhale and exhale

The pause of the breath

The place of rest.

Between this moment and the next

Between action and inaction

Between the moment of birth

And the letting go of the shell.

The between space

Ever present

Easily accessed

Stop now and find yourself

Between, at the here and now.

The World Crashes Down

When fear overrides your love

And anxiety shakes your soul

I will bring you peace.

When the world crashes down

And tears roll forth

I will give you ease.

When the heart shatters again

Everyday an empty heartache

I will bring healing.

You will find me

When you listen closely

Look widely

Hold loosely

For I am right here.

I am here in the quiet morning sunrise

In the gentle summer breeze

And the clouds dancing against a bright blue sky.

I am here in each breath

In the nourishment you take

And in the moment you stop to see me.

I will guide you

Reminding you that you are loved

Even as the world crashes down.

Keep Your Silence

They noticed me
And rushed over
Only to screech out
Far too loudly
Shhhusshhh now
Step down and go away
You must keep your silence to yourself.
*
Your silence is breaking us
It is its own form of protest
So you must tuck it in
To that crevice in your brain
Where little else matters.
*
But…but…I like my silence
It gives me refuge
And peace
Comfort and light flow through my silence
Can’t you see my spirit when I am silent?
Breathing, moving yet unmoving
I smile when I am silent.
*
Keep it, your silence
There is no space for it here, now
There is no time or taste for such things
There is only time to speak up
To shout loudly
To roll in anger, confusion, righteousness, and despair.
*
Yet, when I am silent it creates even more space
For something new to emerge
Great healing, great love
And others’ songs can come through
When I am silent
A new time emerges, as the old slips by.
*
No, they answered
The silence is too scary, too unknown
We can’t tell what you are really thinking
When there’s too much space, and openness
Anything might leak through
And come crashing out like a
Sonic boom to the heart.
*
Oh, I say
And I shut my eyes
Returning again and again
To this moment
This breath
This crushing power of silence.

Star Journey

I took a sip and blew of my head
Rolled around on the ground
Left my body for dead.
*
I flew past the moon
Burned by a few stars
Seeking what was coming soon.
*

True brightness, the greatest of lights
And it beckoned me, step in
One way only, no exit in sight.
*
I leapt right into the light that was you
Watched your death once more,
Finally you rose, and together we flew.
*
We melted like one in time and space
Unified beings, all are here
No need for the never ending race.
*
A million years later, back home we came
Past those stars, that glittering moon
Life will never be the same.
*
Don’t forget; we are still liquescent
Melting together, like stars into moon
All good, all beings, all love heaven sent.

An Answer

He sent me an angel, but I chose not to see

The light that was pouring

From the being in front of me.

~

He sent me a light, so I could now know

That I was no longer alone

Somehow I failed to see it’s bright glow.

~

He sent me a message, written boldly in ink

Clear and articulate, oh so very neat

Yet I struggled again to see link after link.

~

Sadly I cried, until I finally asked him one day

Hey big old guy in the sky

Can’t you send me some answers, guide me on my way?

~

His face full of love, with a smile brighter than the sun

He laughed and he chuckled

It’s all right there, just stop from your frantic run.

~

Breathe he said, and you will know

So I breathed, sitting still

And it all began to flow.

~

The light, the stars, the sky all around

They too breathed out their knowledge

And life became profound.

~

Thank you, thank you, big man in the sky

And he laughed and he twinkled

Someday, he said, you will know why….

Even When

Even when things may seem not quite right

The spirit is moving within and through

Culling all the scattered pieces together

Creating a new and emerging you.

~

Even when the deep rage bubbles up inside

And you can feel it coursing through the body

The spirit is continually working small miracles

Your own light filled guide is overseeing.

~

Even then, and even right here and now

However dark you might be feeling

A new, greater order is emerging

With the infinite potential for healing.

~

Even when you think, this will never pass

Slow down for a moment, and then the next

Trusting right here and now,

Know the spirit’s healing annex.
